Drug Uses
Cialis is a medicine used to help a man to have and maintain his penis hardened and expanded easier and faster and to treat in this way erectile dysfunction(ED).It widens blood vessels and increases blood flow necessary for an erection to penis. Cialishelps to solve the problems with erection when sexually excited but not with sexual desire. It stays in the body for a longer period of time in comparison with other medications for ED.
How taken
Cialis is available in the drugstores for the patients having prescriptions. Produced in tablets (20 mg, 10 mg, 5 mg) taken orally.
Take a tablet with/without food before sexual contact. The best time for using the medicine is individual as some men are able to have an erection only a definite period of time after taking a tablet while others have to wait until it starts working (up to 36 hrs). Cialis is to be taken only once a day and before sexual intercourse. DO NOT double doses.
Doses vary from 5 to 20 mg as the reaction to different dosage is individual. If taking any medications for liver or kidneys, your maximum dose of Cialis is 10 mg (taken once every 2-3 days).
Precautions
1 Strictly follow your doctor’s directions and never take more of the medicine than prescribed.
2 Inform your doctor if you have any allergies to any substances or to Cialis Do not use the medicine any more if you have ever had an allergic reaction to it.
3 Cialis can not be used if you take any medicines based on nitrates (except Flomax 0.4 mg)as it may negatively influence your blood pressure, any prostate drugs or medications for blood pressure. Be sure your doctor knows if you are taking any medicines at the moment in particular any of the following:
Any other impotence drugs
Itraconazole
Enalapril
Metoporol
Eprosartan
Irbesartan
Grapefruit juice
Bendrofluazide
Saquinavir
Candesartan
4 As well as the age over 50, the following conditions may be a reason for restriction for not using Cialis:
Irregular heartbeat
Leukemia
Genital problems (any defects)
Diabetes
Any serious eye conditions
Liver, stomach, kidney problems
Multiple myeloma
Any heart problems
High/low blood pressure
Smoking
Sickle cell anemia
5 If you experience any side effects including dizziness and pain during sexual contact, you should stop taking the medicine and let your doctor know about it.
6 Cialis doesn’t protect you from diseases transmitted via sexual contact (HIV).
7 Avoid drinking alcohol beverages while taking Cialis.
8 Cialis is prescribed to MEN ONLY, it’s not supposed to be used by either women or children.
9 When you take a tablet, one of its active ingredients stays in the body for about 2 days or longer if you have any kidney or liver impairments.
Side effects

If any side effects occur or any changes in intensity, inform your doctor. But usually they go away in a few hours.
Side effects may be the following: headaches, pain in different parts of the body, dyspepsia, fainting, insomnia, dizziness, heartbeat irregularity, blood pressure problems, bleeding nose, changes in vision (or its loss ), muscle pain.
Side effects may appear as the body gets used to the medication and go away after some time of adjustment.
Storage
  • Store at room temperature
  • Keep away from children
  • Store away from direct light, heat and cold, damp places
  • Dispose of an outdated medicine

Overdose
Overdose side effects may be caused by the dose of Cialis of about 500 mg. Priapism (painful and prolonged erection) has been observed when exceeding the doses of the medicine. In such cases when the erection lasts for more than 4 hrs, call the emergency as it could lead to permanent impotence.
